Breaking Wall

Based on “Mending Wall” by Robert Frost

“Something there is that doesn't love a wall”
Be it not the wind, it blows where it must
Nor the rain that fails on the just and unjust
Hunters and game can not place a dent
The wall grows stronger since it was built.

It stands to be toppled, your will it can bear
Try to scale it, break it or pretend its not there
Yet it still stands taller, no need for repair.
This wall is something that no man can bear.

Time has no power to weaken its stance
More good than evil? Not even a chance.
“Good fences make good neighbors,” says he
A lie for the cowards and stubborn indeed

His love and His will hates what you’ve built
Roadblock to the Kingdom, Christ Himself
That wall left standing, blinds your own eyes
To the God of great mercy, glory and life!

“Something there is that doesn't love a wall”
A wall built by your sin, kept by your pride
That Something’s His blood, if you decide
To carry His cross daily, on your bare back
To trust in His word, and never look back
